TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Recovering from a year of cancer treatment... feeling good!

It was a weird feeling getting the ‘clear’ results from our first PETscan. Collapsing with relief into the arms of my oncologist… A second chance… Big smiles… Stunned… Total exhaustion… Driving home had each of us in the car experiencing very different things. Myself, feeling like in a dream, kind of numb. Mark and Kara’s tummies were so sore, they couldn’t even enjoy our celebration lunch. JJ was quiet as he processed. Shona (a friend from church who also has undergone cancer treatment for uterine cancer this past year) was chatting excitedly, praising the Lord.

It’s not the end of the road yet. The next 3 to 5 years are in His wonderful hands. What an incredible privilege though, to start the next phase of this journey from this place. We feel so unworthy of such blessing. Yet we know, blessing is not given because we deserve it. But, rather because of His gracious answer to prayers of many and also because He has a plan through all things.

It’s sometimes a confusing life this … especially for us at this time. As we rejoice in being able to breathe a little easier for a little while longer, dear friends of ours are saying goodbye to their dear son, Craig, who passed away (from an aggressive brain cancer) this week. As we mourn with them, we are reminded to simply trust in His goodness, stepping foreword while keeping our eye’s on His face and our hearts trusting in His plan… no matter how curious, His path is always sure.

Pray for the Brown family as they say goodbye to Craig and adjust to their new ‘normal’.

Pray for us that we’d know His clear direction. We want to be in His will all the days of our lives.
